The Tara L. Riedley Foundation was very busy in 2013 and 2014. The Foundation, in partnership with the New Hope-Solebury Community Association, sponsored the third and fourth annual Cycle Bucks County bike ride featuring rides of 60, 50, 25 miles and a family ride on the canal of 10 miles.
Tara’s California friends organized two successful golf tournaments at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco, CA. during the same time frame. All of the events allowed the Foundation to make contributions to various charities and to award scholarships to New Hope-Solebury High School students during those years.
Girls on the Run received $5,000 over the two year period in addition to $5,000 in years prior. Doylestown Hospital received $5,000 in 2014 and $5,000 in 2012. Scholarships totaling $5,000 were given to New Hope-Solebury seniors during 2013 and 2014.
The Presidio California golf tournaments allowed the Foundation to make contributions to Real Options for City Kids, a child welfare agency in the bay area, of $3,000, and a contribution to the University of California-San Francisco Hospital Partners in Care program of $5,295. Tara’s friends and organizers of the golfing events selected charities in the bay area as recipients of the proceeds of the outings. They are an energetic group with true philanthropic hearts.
In June of 2014 the Foundation made a contribution to the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) in the amount of $5,000. The BCOC stocks food pantries, assists homeless in finding homes, repairs broken heating units and works to move our citizens from welfare to sustainable employment through job training and education.
Without the hard work and help of Tara’s friends, co-workers and family, the Foundation would not have been able to assist individuals and organizations that make life better in our communities. Thank you for your help and generous donations over the past years.
The Foundation and The New Hope-Solebury Community Association organized Cycle Bucks County and conducted four annual rides, beginning in 2011, through scenic Bucks County. The rides have been successful and many riders participated. The committee has decided that it will not continue the ride in 2015. Cycling is a sport enjoyed by many and there are many local cycling events in which to participate. We have enjoyed organizing the rides and thank all who took part and helped to raise funds for Heart Institute at Doylestown Hospital.
